Understanding the TSHL League Structure & Governance

A look at how the Texas Scholastic Hockey League is organized to serve players, clubs, and the high school hockey community.

As the Texas Scholastic Hockey League continues preparing for its inaugural season, we believe it's important that every club, player, parent, coach, and volunteer understands how the league is structured and how decisions are made.

The TSHL was built by the community, for the community. This League Structure & Governance overview illustrates how the league is organized, how leadership responsibilities are divided, and how clubs can continue to be involved as the league grows.

The overview includes:

  • The relationship between the Texas Hockey League (THL) Executive Board and the TSHL Board of Governors.
  • The five-member Board of Governors and the constituency each Governor represents.
  • The operational leadership team, including the Commissioner, Registrar, and Director of Communications & Brand.
  • The initial league committees and their responsibilities.
  • How committee members from across the league will continue to help shape and strengthen the TSHL.

Transparency has been a priority from the very beginning of this process. As we continue building the league together, we hope this provides a clear picture of how the TSHL is organized and how members of the community can become involved.
