TSHL Announces Mark Snyder as Governor #3

Former high school hockey association president brings years of coaching, board leadership, and community experience to the Texas Scholastic Hockey League.

DALLAS, TX — Following the announcement of the Texas Scholastic Hockey League's inaugural governance structure, the TSHL is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Snyder as Governor #3 of the league's inaugural Board of Governors.

As Governor #3, Mark will serve in the position designated for a past president of a high school hockey association. For the inaugural season, this position is appointed by the Texas Hockey League Board to help ensure continuity, preserve institutional knowledge, and support a smooth transition as the TSHL prepares for its inaugural season.

Mark's experience as a hockey parent, coach, high school board member, and former high school association president makes him uniquely qualified to help guide the league through its inaugural year while honoring the strong foundation of high school hockey in the Dallas-Fort Worth community.

About Mark Snyder

Mark Snyder's involvement in hockey began through his two sons, Robert and Matthew. Through Robert's 18-year hockey journey, Mark experienced travel hockey, high school hockey, and ACHA collegiate hockey. With Matthew, he experienced house league and high school hockey, which ultimately led him to become involved in coaching.

Over the course of six years, Mark coached house league teams ranging from 12U through 18U while also coaching at the high school level. Those experiences provided valuable insight into player development, coaching, and the day-to-day needs of youth and high school hockey programs.

Mark also served four years on the Plano West High School Hockey Board, including two years as Vice President and two years as President. During that time, he gained firsthand experience supporting club operations, working alongside families and volunteers, and helping lead one of the area's high school hockey programs.

After his sons completed their playing careers, Mark stepped away from the sport before returning during the 2025–26 season as a member of the AT&T High School Hockey Advisory Group. His return reflects his continued commitment to supporting and strengthening high school hockey in North Texas.

The Texas Scholastic Hockey League is honored to welcome Mark Snyder to its inaugural Board of Governors and looks forward to the experience, leadership, and perspective he brings as the league prepares for its first season.

Additional appointments to the inaugural TSHL Board of Governors will be announced soon as the league continues building its leadership team.
