TSHL Announces Jason Ragsdale as Governor #4

Experienced high school hockey leader elected to represent eastern high school clubs on the Texas Scholastic Hockey League Board of Governors.

DALLAS, TX — Following the announcement of the Texas Scholastic Hockey League's inaugural governance structure, the TSHL is pleased to announce the election of Jason Ragsdale as Governor #4 of the league's inaugural Board of Governors.

As Governor #4, Ragsdale will serve as the representative for the eastern high school hockey clubs. This position ensures that clubs from the eastern side of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex have a dedicated voice in league governance while helping the Board make decisions that support the continued growth and success of high school hockey throughout the region.

Ragsdale brings years of experience leading a high school hockey organization in North Texas. His commitment to player development, community involvement, and growing opportunities for student-athletes, combined with his leadership experience, make him uniquely qualified to represent eastern clubs on the inaugural TSHL Board of Governors.

About Jason Ragsdale

For the past five years, Ragsdale has served on the Plano East Hockey Club Board of Directors, including one year as Team Development Director, one year as Vice President, and the past three years as President.

During his tenure, he helped grow the club to three teams, increased the club's presence across the three high schools it serves, and launched a silent auction fundraiser to help offset costs for families.

Ragsdale's involvement in hockey extends beyond board leadership. His two sons, Travis and Houston, have both played hockey since Mini-Mites, progressing through the Dallas Stars Metro Hockey League and into high school hockey beginning in seventh grade. Through their hockey journeys, Ragsdale has experienced youth, travel, and high school hockey firsthand while gaining a broad perspective on the needs of players and families throughout North Texas.

Committed to supporting the hockey community, Ragsdale also broadcasts games for families who are unable to attend in person, helping keep players, families, and supporters connected while promoting the sport throughout the community.

Outside of hockey, Ragsdale has dedicated his professional career to education and coaching. Since 1999, he has served as a teacher and coach in Allen ISD, Garland ISD, and Rockwall ISD, teaching Social Studies, History, Teen Leadership, and Athletics while coaching football and track. He is scheduled to retire from education in May 2027 after nearly three decades of service.

The Texas Scholastic Hockey League is honored to welcome Jason Ragsdale to its inaugural Board of Governors and looks forward to the leadership, experience, and perspective he brings as the league continues building the future of high school hockey throughout North Texas.
