About Andy Gibson
Andy Gibson serves as Commissioner of the Texas Hockey League, bringing nearly 15 years of hockey leadership experience across youth development, adaptive sports, and program management. A lifelong advocate for the game, Andy began his career on the ice before channeling that passion into building programs that create lasting impact at every level of hockey.
Growing the Game
Prior to joining the THL, Gibson served as Program Services Manager at USA Hockey, where he partnered with NHL member clubs and local hockey associations to expand access to the game across the country. That experience provided him with a broad perspective on player development, organizational leadership, and community growth that continues to shape his work today.
Leadership Through Inclusion
Andy has also been a driving force in making hockey more inclusive. He founded and served as Executive Director of an adaptive hockey program that brought the sport to individuals of all abilities, encompassing adaptive, sled, and warrior hockey disciplines under one unified organization. Through that effort, he built a thriving community of athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers while creating opportunities for players who otherwise may not have had access to the game.
A Commitment to Grassroots Hockey
Throughout his career, Gibson has remained committed to growing hockey where it matters most—at the grassroots level.
His experience includes serving as Hockey Director at Extreme Ice Center, Assistant Hockey Director at Kettler Capitals Iceplex, national service with the Peace Corps, and his current role as Growth Coordinator for the Texas Amateur Hockey Association. Across every position, he has demonstrated a passion for developing players, strengthening local associations, and expanding the reach of hockey within communities.
"Andy's impact has been undeniable, and we have no doubt he will bring that same energy and influence as we launch the TSHL. Any league or organization is lucky to have Andy."
