The TSHL Is Here: Building the Future of DFW High School Hockey
The TSHL Is Here — And We're Just Getting Started
An update to the DFW High School Hockey Community from the THL Executive Board
Less than a week ago, the Texas Hockey League was approached about playing a role in the next chapter of DFW high school hockey. What has happened since is a testament to what this community is capable of when it moves with purpose.
A League with a Name and a Home
Within days of that first conversation, the Texas Scholastic Hockey League (TSHL) was established, complete with its own identity, website at texasscholastichockeyleague.com, and a governance structure built to serve student-athletes, coaches, and families across the region for generations to come.
Three Governors Seated
The TSHL Board of Governors is taking shape fast. Three of the five seats are already filled:
Cosmo Clarke — Governor #1 | USA Hockey / TAHA Representative
Andy Gibson — Governor #2 | THL Board Representative
Mark Snyder — Governor #3 | Past High School Association President
Governors #4 and #5 will be elected directly by the clubs because this league belongs to the community.
The Community Showed Up
Yesterday, we held our inaugural TSHL Club Presidents Meeting, and the response was everything we could have hoped for. The conversation was honest, substantive, and exactly what a community-first league should sound like. That kind of engaged leadership is the foundation on which everything else gets built.
One thing was clear across every voice on that call: this community has deep roots, real institutional knowledge, and a genuine desire to do right by the student-athletes they serve. We do not take that lightly, and we are not here to reinvent what is already working. We are here to build on it.
Now It's Your Turn. Nominate Your Candidates
Nominations are now open for Governor #4 and Governor #5, the two club-elected seats on the TSHL Board of Governors. These are your representatives. The clubs vote. The community decides.
We encourage every club to submit candidates as soon as possible. Getting the full Board seated is critical. The sooner all five Governors are in place, the sooner TSHL operations can take formal shape, and we can start building the next 30 years of high school hockey in North Texas. Club Presidents have been notified of the nomination process, and details are in their inbox.
For full details on the nomination process and timeline, please reference our previously published announcements at www.texasscholastichockeyleague.com. For all future inquiries, please direct your emails to commissioner@texasscholastichockeyleague.com. The inbox will be managed by the Interim Commissioner until a permanent TSHL Commissioner has been selected.
